Charles Settles, 83, passed away Friday evening in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late James Logan Settles and Mealie Longmier Settles in Morgan County, Tennessee. He retired from the Elsmere School System in northern Kentucky and was a member of the Wheelrim Baptist Church. He loved wood working and gospel music and he could play the mandelin and the harmonica.
He is survived by three sons Anthony Carl Settles (Paula) of Buford, South Carolina, James Logan Settles (Amanda) of Erlanger, Ky. and Randy Lee Settles (Sarah) of Owenton, Ky. ,three daughters Linda Lykins (Ed) of Owingsville, Emma Jean Frazier (Danny) of Owingsville and Beverly Whisman (Wes) of Owingville, One brother Lawrence Settles of Wartburg, Tennessee. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by Emma Lois Settles, his parents James Logan and Mealie Settles and one son Charles “Chip” Settles and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday by Brother Anthony Settles at the funeral home with burial following in the Lykins Family Cemetery.
