Celeste Doggett Ward, 67, of Ashland, Kentucky made her peaceful transition to heaven after a long illness on February 13, 2025 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH.
Celeste was born on March 26, 1957, in Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Daniel Ward Doggett, Jr. and Anne-Marie Ferary Doggett. She was a 1975 graduate of Bath County High School and a graduate from Marshall University.
Celeste was a retired homemaker after serving at several positions of social work in Ohio. She was of Catholic faith and staunch believer in St. Jude. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs Pug and Mac and grand-cats Remi and Bijou, cooking like a chef, OSU football, and mostly loving her four children to no end.
Survivors include her daughter Gabrielle Ward, her sons Nicholas and Dmitri Ward all of Ashland, KY. Her sister Marcelle Doggett of Owingsville, KY; one sister-in-law, Julie Pemberton (Jeff), brother-in-law James A. Ward III of South Point, OH, brother-in-law, John Helton (Patricia) of Los Angeles, CA, one cherished brother from another mother, Alan Balicki of Brooklyn, NY, special and cherished cousins Sherman (Debbie) Goodpaster and family, Herve Ferary and families in France, special family friends, Anita Horne Winning and Lee Ann Cline Leffew, special mother in law Leatrice Jane Thomas of Ashland, KY who passed February 15, 2025 and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse Helton Ward in 2017 and a son, Alexander Helton Ward in December 2024 and father-in-law James (Jim) Ward, Jr.
The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Fr. Dave Glockner, Fr. Michael Fulton, all doctors, nurses and staff of the Southern Ohio Medical Center for their earnest and loving care during her two week stay and all the friends of our work and church families, that stood by our side during this time. We are blessed and you are most graciously loved.
