Beverly King, age 72 of Owingsville, passed away on May 16 at Ridgeway Nursing Home after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 14, 1951 to Mae Copher McQuithy and the late Carl McQuithy.
Beverly was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints of Owingsville. She loved her church family and helping others. Beverly was a troop leader for Girl Scouts of America for many years. She also worked for the Bath County School Age Child Care. Collecting dishes, glassware and adding to her huge barbie collection were some things she enjoyed doing. She had a love for flowers and working outdoors. Beverly was a kind, simple lady with a big heart. Her family and friends will miss her dearly but will always cherish the memories.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Shanken ( Michael ) and her mother, Mae McQuithy.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Carl McQuithy and her husband, Karl King.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints of Owingsville with Bishop Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery. There will be a visitation time from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
