Betty June “Bets” Marlow, age 78, of Salt Lick, Kentucky passed away at her residence
on July 22, 2025. She was born on April 17, 1947 in Morehead, KY to the late Emerson and
Beatrice (Sparks) Easton. While in the 7th grade at Salt Lick Elementary School at the very
young age of 12 she met the love of her life, Kenneth L. Marlow. They later wed on July 31,
1965. Betty June and Ken were married 27 years and were the parents of two sons, Bryan and
Brad Marlow.
Betty June was a woman of many interests and talents. She played slow-pitch softball
for many years on local Salt Lick teams, such as Reeves Lumber. She was a pitcher for these
teams who had a very unique pitching style with a high arc that most batters hated to face. Her
entire family could be found on a ballfield playing in softball tournaments over the summer. She
worked many years at Bath County Drugs. She was an excellent baker with her specialties
being pies, cakes, peanut butter rolls, and caramel pull corn. No matter the occasion her
desserts were always the first gone at family gatherings. She often gifted family and friends her
tasty creations. Betty June had quite the green thumb and enjoyed working outside with her
weed eater and planting flowers, shrubs, or bushes. Her love of sports extended to cheering on
her beloved Kentucky Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds. She was very skilled at crocheting
afghans and loved to make them for special occasions. She was an avid watcher of her soap
operas and everyone knew not to plan anything during those times. Betty June enjoyed visiting
with family and loved to take family trips every chance she got.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Marlow, her son, Bradley A.
Marlow, Her mother, Beatrice (Sparks) Easton, her father, Emerson Easton, her two brothers Bill
and Bob Easton, and one sister, Sue Hogge. She is survived by her son, Bryan Marlow (Diane)
