August P. Girod

August P. Girod, age 88, passed away in the early hours of Saturday December 13, 2025 in Cynthiana, KY. He was born September 10, 1937 to Peter S. and Mary D. Girod in Berne, Indiana. He was married to his late wife, Elnora Girod, with whom he fostered a large and loving family.

He is survived by 10 children, Samuel (Elizabeth), Daniel (Miriam), Jacob (Emma), Joseph (Josephine), Pete (Rosina), Bennie (Mary), David (Anna),Levi (Marie), August (Elizabeth) and Reuben (Rosina), 109 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Girod, and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16 at the residence of Joe Girod in Cynthiana, KY with Jonathan L. Schmidt officiating.

Burial will follow at the Satterfield Amish Cemetery in Owingsville, KY.
