Anna Belle Shultz, age 87, of Olympia, passed away at her home surrounded by her children on January 8th. She was born on May 3rd, 1937, to the late Scott Roberts and Mary Boaz Roberts.
Anna Belle knew no greater joy than her children and family. A devoted wife, mother, mamaw, and friend; she selflessly cared for those she loved. An integral part of the Olympia Christian Church, she was instrumental in its longevity. She worked for several years at the Olympia Post Office and at Bluegrass Industry which later became Jockey.
Her true passion in life was to care for others, not only her family but many others in the community. Being a caretaker came natural to her. She was the problem solver and the way maker, always there with a listening ear and a well-intended word of advice.
While devoted in her faith, in her later years she spent Sunday mornings preparing dinner for her family with the local service on the radio, as nothing meant more to her than time together. Her kindness, strength, and love will be missed dearly by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by one son, Keith Shultz; three daughters, Sharon Trent (Ted), Regina Pettit and Tammy Crouch (Jeff); one brother, Billy Roberts (Retha); seven grandchildren, Miranda Lea Whitaker (Thomas), Kelly McHugh (Jesse), Travis Pettit (Samantha), Casey Hardin (Chris), Lacy Pettit (Andy), Ryan Crouch, and Sara Roberts (Logan); and eight great grandchildren, Derek Bush, Jacob Bush, Allison Caudill, Abby Bromagen, Aubree Thompson, Sophia Pettit, Hunter Pettit, and Clay Hardin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Mib Shultz; one brother, Clyde Roberts; one sister, Barbara Wilson; and dear friend, Jean Roberts.
A sincere thank you to her beloved niece and caregiver, Mary Ellen Marksberry, whom the family will be forever grateful for her loving care and devotion.
