Alvin "Tommy" Stephens Jr. Obituary

Alvin Thomas "Tommy" Stephens Jr., age 83, of Owingsville, passed away on January 1, after a brief illness. He was born on July 9, 1936 in Bath County to the late Alvin T. Stephens Sr. and Mariam Grayson Stephens. He was a veteran and retired from KU after 32 years of employment. He also was a farmer and loved walking horses. He was a member of the KY Walking Horse Association for many years. He enjoyed socializing, draft horses and playing the lottery. He was a huge UK fan. He was a hard worker with a kind heart. He loved to visit people and spend time with family and friends. He loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them. He was known and loved by so many. He will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by one son, Jeff Stephens (Shanda Ginn) of Owingsville; One daughter, Rhonda (Chad) Vice of Mt. Sterling; His significant other of 22 years, Carolyn Wells; Five grandchildren, Dylan Clark, Emma Wade, Cailen Vice, Abigayle Wells, and Devon Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Mattie Stull  and one stepson, Kevin Wells; and one grandson John Caleb Clark. 

Visitation will be Saturday, January 4 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services will be held Sunday January 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home will burial following in the Peeled Oak Cemetery.

Reverend Tim "Tinker" Ray will be officiating. 

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Bailey, Randy Buckner, Omer Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Earl Rogers Jr., Carroll Doyle, Danny Hunt and Daniel Carmichael.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Cline, Charles Orme, Ronnie Lyons, Jr. Bailey, Tommy Butcher, Ronnie Faudere, Bobby Staton, Larry Thompson and Ronnie Robinson.
