Alfred "Tater" Highley, age 81, passed away at his residence on April 28. He was born on April 7, 1941 in Olympia, Kentucky to the late Albert Highley and Eula Pergrem Highley. He was an Army veteran and retired from the Army Depot. Alfred was a member of the Slate Valley Christian Church. He was very passionate about watching sports and was an avid Reds fan and UK fan. Alfred always enjoyed getting up early every morning and having coffee at Town and Country. He loved to talk to others and made many new friends there. Alfred was a simple man that just enjoyed his family and he will be missed dearly by those that loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Highley; one son, Brian Highley; one daughter, Stephanie Highley; one brother, Mike Highley; one sister, Carolyn Coyle; two grandchildren, Bailey Manley and Aubree Sue Manley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Jim, Bill and Paul Highley and one sister, Marcella Conway.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Richardson Funeral Home with Reverend Gregg Whitt and Reverend Gary Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Thomas, Wayne Everman, Curtis Thompson, Doug Copher, Davey Moore, Randy Coyle, Darrell Conway and Corey Patrick.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Adams, Marcus Highley, Dylan Highley, Tim Highley, Clifton Buckler, Mike Everman, Robbie Adams, Troy Highley and Adam Highley.
