William "Steve" Thompson, age 75, of Owingsville, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2019. He was born on December 25, 1943 in Mt. Sterling to the late John Edward Thompson and Pearl Lee Crockett Thompson. Steve was a retired farmer that loved the outdoors and everything to do with farming. He was an avid fan of dirt track drag racing. He loved his dog, Blue and also loved to walk his friend's dog, Lilly. He will be remembered by many as the guy who walked the dog around town. Steve was an honest, simple man that loved his family. You always knew where you stood with him. He loved family dinners and spending time with his loved ones. He was a father, a papaw, a brother and a friend. He will be missed by all that knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that loved him.
He is survived by one son, Wes Thompson of Preston; One daughter, Lisa Adkins (Jimmy) of Preston; One brother, Mitchell Thompson of Preston; Three sisters, Linda Shelly (Denny) of Preston; Jean Ingram of Mt. Sterling; Brenda Pendleton (Dirk) of Mt. Sterling; Two granddaughters, Amber Munday (Ryan) and Sheena Thompson (Sheila); One great granddaughter, Presley Munday; Several nieces and nephews; A special friend, Gayle Jackson;
He was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Wanda Thompson; Two brothers, Rex Thompson and Terry Thompson; One sister, Kathy Highley; One grandson, Jacob Thompson.
Visitation will be Friday July 5 from 6-8 p.m. at RIchardson Funeral Home.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
