Sarah Scott Staton, age 67, of Owingsville, passed away July 31, 2018. She was born April 10, 1951 in Mt. Sterling KY to the late Henry Clay Thomas Sr. and Francis Scott Bristow Thomas. She was a librarian since 1992 and drove the Book Mobile. She enjoyed the Thursday Night Card making class at the library. The class for Thursday Aug. 2 will be held at the Richardson Funeral Home in her honor. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will last through the visitation. Sarah was an avid UK basketball fan. She also enjoyed Nascar and Tony Stewart. She knitted, crocheted and made afghans. She enjoyed life and was a very kind person. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 42 years, Wesley Staton of Owingsville; One son, John Staton of Owingsville; One daughter, Kelly (Kyle) Kirby of Eldridge, IA; Four grandchildren, Kaden Kirby, Conner Kirby, Cameron Kirby and Kaleb Kirby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. Thomas Sr. and Francis Scott Bristow Thomas and one brother, Henry C Thomas Jr.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday August 2 at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Friday August 3 at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
