Roger Stephens, Age 70, passed away November 12. He was born August 22, 1948 in Bath County to the late Maxey Stephens and Lorena Reed Stephens. Roger started his career at Owingsville Farm Supply in 1966. In December of 1967 he moved to the LP Gas Department. When the companies merged to become Southern States, he continued to work there and retired in 2016, after 48 years of service. He loved to farm and fish with his nephew and lifelong friend, Don Denton. He was an avid Big Blue Fan and loved to cheer on the Wildcats. Roger was a family man. He never missed any activities that his children or grandchildren were involved in. He will be remembered as a simple man with a good heart and a friendly personality. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Stephens; One son, Patrick Stephens of Owingsville; One daughter, Melissa Stephens McIntyre (Phillip) of Lexington; Five sisters, Ina Martin of Owingsville, Donna Harmon of Indiana, Margaret Snedegar of Fleming County, Linda Gray of Owingsville and Cheryl Sorrell of Owingsville; Four grandchildren, Kyle Spencer Stephens (Courtney), Kellie Elizabeth Stephens, Morgan Suzanne Stephens and Claira Grace McIntyre; One great grandchild, Spencer Allen Stephens
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ivetta Rogers and Era Dell (Slim) Dyer.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home will burial following in the Owingsville Cemetery.
