Rex D. Fathergill, age 78, of Melbourne, FL, passed away on August 5, after a long hard fought battle. He was born on December 9, 1940 to the late Ethan Fathergill and Jewell Simpson Ward in Liberty, KY. He married Dolores Craycraft Fathergill and they moved to Florida. He retired from IBM as a development engineer. He also worked for NASA on the Apollo program. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and spending time with family. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He enjoyed life and his memory will live on through his family and friends.
He is survived by one son, Rex Lyn Fathergill of Frankfort; One daughter, Kimberly Boleyn of Louisville; One granddaughter, Rachel Scarlett Estill (Scott Williams) of Florida; Three great grandchildren, Jacob, Adam and Sebastian Williams of Florida; Several friends and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethan Fathergill and Jewell Simpson Ward; His wife, Dolores Craycraft Fathergill.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday August 11 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kendall Springs Cemetery.
