Mary Jean Melton, age 83, of Owingsville, passed away November 20, 2019. She was born June 6, 1936 in Owingsville to the late Alex "Bud" Pendleton and Nona Mae Riddle. She was a member of Moores Ferry Church of Christ. She loved her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, singing and taking care of others. She was a kind, loving woman that always put others before herself. She could be described as an angel here on earth. She touched many lives during her time here and will be missed by so many. Her love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those that loved her.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Melton and Timothy Melton both of Salt Lick; Two daughters, Linda (David) McCarty and Debbie (Gordy) Crouch both of Owingsville; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Melton; her parents; Five brother, Jr. Seagraves, Reddis Riddle, Ronnie Pendleton, Hansford "Buck" Pendleton and Earl Pendleton; Two sisters, Annie Shadyfelt and Darlene Purvis.
Visitation will be Friday November 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Hedrick Cemetery.
Reverend Dennis Carman will be officiating.
