Larry Junior Spence, age 68, of Sharpsburg, made heaven his home on Friday July 12 after a long illness. He was born in Bath County on March 30, 1951 to the late Joe Spence and Hattie Bashford Spence. He was a retired farmer that loved to be outside. He enjoyed hunting and loved to go fishing. He was a member of the Springfield Church. Larry loved his family, enjoyed spending time with them and cooking big family dinners for them to enjoy. He loved his dog, Annie. He was a loving father, husband, papaw, brother and friend. He cared for everyone and will be missed here on earth but his family finds peace in knowing that he is in heaven with his son, Daniel and other loved ones that have gone on. He will forever be loved and missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Chrystal Coffman Spence of Sharpsburg; One daughter, Lisa Spence (Don Sams) of Mt. Sterling; Three sons, David Spence (Amy) of Georgetown, Travis Spence of Owingsville and Michael Spence of Mt. Sterling; One brother, Bobby Spence of Mt. Sterling; Seven grandchildren, Lyndsey Spence, Sandra Thomas, Brianna Thomas, Bryan Thomas, Ryan Spence, Shelby Spence and Olivia Spence; Two nephews, Lonnie Spence and Jerry Spence and his wife, Rita, who was a caregiver and friend to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Hattie Spence; His son, Daniel Spence; Two brothers, Danny Spence and Gary Spence; One niece, Kim Spence.
Visitation will be Monday July 15 from 6-8 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday July 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Reverend Roy Stacy will be officiating.
