James "Pug" Vanlandingham, age 86, of Owingsville, passed away at his residence on October 3, 2019. He was born April 18, 1933 in Bath County to the late Orville Vanlandingham and Daisy Jones Vanlandingham. He served in the Navy for 20 years, which he was very proud of. He also worked as a construction worker. He was a member of the American Legion and the Task Force Omega. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a love for motorcycles that he and his wife of 40 years shared. They enjoyed riding and was part of a motorcycle club called The Wild Hogs. Spending time with family and friends was important to him and brought him joy. He will be forever missed by those that are left behind. They will cherish the memories made and carry him in their hearts forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fern Vanlandingham; One daughter, Sue (Keith) Carmichael of Owingsville; Four grandchildren, Michael Staton of Owingsville, Julie Baker of Mt. Sterling, Lorri (Chris) Raleigh of Owingsville and Jesse Carmichael of Owingsville; Three great grandchildren; John Baker of Winchester, Jayce Staton of Owingsville and Odessah Raleigh of Owingsville; A host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Daisy Vanlandingham; One son, Michael Spratt; One brother, H.H. Vanlandingham.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Monday October 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Owingsville Cemetery.
