Earl J. Morris, 94, of Owingsville passed away in Lexington Sunday morning after an extended illness. He was born May 18, 1923 in Preston to the late William Wayne and Annie Green Morris. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Gladys Roberts Morris. He was a Veteran of the Army in WWII where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge among other smaller engagements. Upon returning to Kentucky he became a business man when he became the owner of Miller's LP Gas, but he was employeed for many years at Miller Furnture and Appliances. He was truly a Jack of All Trades and a hard worker. He is listed among the membership of the Owingsville Baptist Church, but also attended the Owingsville First Church of God.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Morris; one daughter Brenda (Steve) Ingram of Lexington; son-in-law Nicky Crouch of Owingsville; three grandchildren Stacy (Brad) Rogers, Britt (Megan) Ingram, and Whitney (Jason) Nickell; two great grandchildren Lane Rogers and Rhett Ingram; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Crouch and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation with the family will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. by the Reverend Lowell Rice.
