Charles Botts Purvis

Charles B. Purvis, age 66, of Owingsville, passed away on December 17, 2019 after an extended illness. He was born in Bath County on April 12, 1953, the son of the late Robert Conway Purvis and Mary Emma Davis Purvis. He worked for A.O. Smith for 19 years. Charles was a farmer and loved to raise a garden. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charles was a simple man that enjoyed a simple life. He had a kind, giving heart and cared about others. He was always there and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. May his memory live on through the memories they have of him and the love that they share for him. 

He is survived by his wife, Opal Richmond Purvis; Three daughters, Shannon Purvis and her husband, Randy; Melissa Kelly and her husband, Mark; Felicia Black; Two brothers, Eddie Purvis and Robert Purvis; Five sisters, Frances McKinley, Mary Bostic, Nola Campbell, Maxie Bussell and Jackie Bussell; Seven grandchildren, Zach Frazier, Justin Hudson, Jacob Frazier, Kimberly Day, Ryan Conley, Trevor Kelly and Dawson Kelly; Several great grandchildren also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; Two brothers, Donnie Purvis and Robin Purvis; One sister, Susan Sexton.

Visitation will be Saturday December 21 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home. 

Reverend Jim Crouch and Reverend Kenny Crouch will be officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Justin Hutson, Jacob Frazier, Zach Frazier, and Randy Purvis.
