Anna Laura Barber, age 88, passed away on June 11 after an extended illness. She was born in Owingsville on May 28, 1931 to the late Issac Crouch and Birdie Lee Bromagen Crouch. She was a retired seamstress from Jockey after 27 years. She was a homemaker and a care giver. She loved to travel. Anna was a member of the Slate Valley Church, the Bath County Homemakers and the Senior Citizens Center. She was also a member and officer of the Ladies Auxillary in Bath County. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and loved for them to visit. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
She is survived by two sons, Perry (Cindy) Barber of Owingsville and Willie (Sandra) Barber III of Owingsville; two daughters, Cheryl Ratliff of Owignsville and Cathy McNabb of Salt Lick; two sisters, Ivetta Crouch Reed and Lilly Short; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a special niece, Marilyn Hutchins
She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Birdie Crouch; her husband, Willie Barber Jr.; seven brother, Roy, Clay, Lewis Jake, Earl, Bob, Tommy and Cecil Crouch; two sisters, Neva; Opal Whisman
Visitation will be Friday June 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday June 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Reverend Greg Whitt will be officiating.
