Allen Vanlandingham, Jr., 86, passed away on Thursday morning after a long illness. He was born in Bath County to the late Allen Vanlandingham, Sr. and Gertrude Vanlandingham on February 12, 1931. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and came home to become a dedicated, hardworking farmer and eventually an employee at AO Smith for many years. He was a life long member of the Sherburne Christian Church and described as a very humble and soft spoken man.
He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers Hoover (Roselyn) Vanlandingham and John G. Vanlandingham all of Owingsville; one niece Debby (Sherman) Goodpaster of Lexington; two nephews Tony (Connie) Vanlandingham of Owingsville and Randy (Laura) Vanlandingham of Lexington; several cousins and friends.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Reverend Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery
