Onie Ellen Donahew

Onie Ellen Donahew, 81, of Mt. Sterling formerly of Bath County passed away after a long illness on Monday September 11. She was born in Rowan County on July 16, 1936 to the late Roosevelt and Iva Swim Kissick. She was the widow of Carless Donahew. Most of her life she served her family as a homemaker but in her spare time she loved to read books about the Amish Faith and other religious books. She was a member of the City of Refuge church and the Bath County Homemakers. 

She leaves to cherish her memory one son James R. (Paula) Donahue of Salt Lick; one daughter Iris Bishop of Mt. Sterling; a daughter-in-law Millie Donahue of Owingsville; one brother Nelson Kissick of Morehead; five sisters Rose Kissick, Lou Kissick, Peggy Kissick, and Clea Tidwell all of Tennessee and Maddie Barnett of Campton, Ky; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband Carless Donahew, she was preceded in death by one son Roger Clayton Donahue adn 1 granddaughter Leah Donahue.

Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Thursday with the Reverend Mike Munday officiating. Burial to follow in the Alfrey Cemetery.
