Welcome to the memorial page for

Lila Lou (Staton) Cline

January 8, 1940 ~ July 12, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Lila Lou Cline, 77, passed away Wednesday July 12, 2017 peacefully in her home with her loved ones surrounding her. She was born January 8, 1940 to the late Charley and Rosie Maze Staton. In her younger years she attended the Polksville Church with her mother. She was very close to her parents and spoke of them often. She grew up on a farm and married into the farm life. She is described by all who knew her as the hardest working woman they ever met; working alongside her late husband, Tommy Cline for 44 years until his death in 2006. She got up every morning at 5 a.m. and made breakfast for her family and when she wasn't caring for the farm and her family she enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidery and was a member of Bath County Homemakers. She found her peace in nature and showered the world in her briliant handiwork. She had a green thumb and took special care of her garden and her flowers. She was an animal lover, never fearing any animal regardless of temperment. Her dogs were always the most special to her.

Her positive outlook on the world was infectious. You never saw her without a smile and when asked what was her best memory of her 44 years of marriage her reply was simply, "They were all good."

She is survived by her grandson Tommy Lee Cline and a special friend and caregiver Lawanna Ratliff. While her list of immediate survivors is a short list, don't be deceived. She has a vast amount of nieces, nephews, and special family friends who will mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Cline, her son Billy Thomas Cline and a brother who passed in infancy Larry Russell Staton.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday July 14, 2017 at Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday July 15, 2017 at 12 p.m. with the Reverend Gary Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Cline Cemetery.
