Dorothy Lou Carroll Whisman, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 25th. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Hope First Church of God. She was a very sociable person. She loved visiting and talking with her friends and greeted each of them with, " Hi, How Are You Honey?" She was a beautiful soul and would fight a running saw mill for the people nearest and dearest to her. She and her husband Clyde, adopted many people over the years making them family. There was never a dull moment when Dorothy and Clyde were around and the pair were inseparable until Clyde passed suddenly in 2011.
She leaves behind an adoring family to cherish her memory. They include one son Clyde Wesley Whisman of Owingsville; one daughter Diana Carroll Montjoy of Owingsville; one brother Herbert Carroll; four sisters Judy Thomas, Maudie Puckett, Lois Ramey, and Evelyn Collins; two grandchildren Dallas (Jessica) Whisman and Christina (David) Thompson; four great-grandchildren Cooper Whisman, Clyde Whisman, Brody Vanderpool, and Marlee Maynard; and a host of other family and friends too numerous to count.
In addition to her husband Clyde, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents Mort and Ethel Carroll; her son-in-law Walter Montjoy, a brother William Daniel Carroll and a sister Alpha Johnson.
Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted by Brother Stanley Hutchison on Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Whisman Family Cemetery.
